In our private sessions and group classes we teach people how to bring out the best in their dogs and navigate potential challenges.
Choosing between private and group lessons depends on your dog’s needs, and your goals, schedule, and budget.
Group classes are a great way to build skills in a structured, social environment and can help puppies learn to focus and respond reliably around distractions. Group training are cost-effective and can be the impetus people need to be consistent with their training. However, group classes may not suit dogs who are reactive, easily overwhelmed, or need specialized attention focused just on them.
Private lessons offer one-on-one attention fully tailored to your dog’s unique behavior and your specific goals and priorities. Private lessons are perfect for addressing individual challenges or working on advanced skills at your own pace.Private lessons allow for flexible scheduling and focused progress, especially helpful for working on issues like leash reactivity, anxiety, fears and phobias, and aggression. While they are more of an investment, the individualized support can lead to quicker breakthroughs.
In many cases a a combination of private and group lessons is advised. If you’re not sure which is right for you we’re happy to help you decide based on your dog’s temperament, history, and training goals.
This is the best place! I took my puppy here for training classes and would do it again in a heart beat. The trainers are highly informed in training dogs, love every puppy, and are VERY approachable. I have recommended it to a handful of people with new puppies. We had one of the trainers, Katrina, come to our home for private lessons with our 7 month old dog. The lessons and follow up homework were clear and effective. Our dogs barking and house training problems are now under control.

I took a puppy class and it helped tremendously!!! The trainer was more than willing to answer any silly little question that i had (and anyone else in the class – believe me there were a lot!) She emailed us tasks & additional info too. I saved the emails & still refer back to these sometimes. Katrina was more than willing address any problems I was having with my pooch. The techniques that we were taught I still use. Recently I travelled up state where i had my dog off leash (which freaked me completely out) then i just used some simple targeting tasks we were taught in class . After a day i was completely calm with her off leash & every time I call her she comes running! This is something i dont think i would have been able to achieve on my own. Taking the class was definetly the best thing I could have done for my puppy!
I got two new little schnauzer puppies and took them to Andrea Arden for training. Prior to taking them for training, they were very wild and hard to control. After our training sessions the improvement in their behavior was dramatic. The trainers here really have a way with animals and their love of dogs really shows.
I recently completed Andrea Arden’s Adult Basic class with my newly rescued Wheaten Terrier. Over the class my dog’s behavior improved immensely, as did my knowledge of how best to train her. Andrea Arden Training uses reward-based training and my dog LOVES it – she now will spontaneously do obedience moves in the hopes that I will give her a treat. Our class was quite small (just 3 dogs), so it was almost like having 1 on 1 training. It was very helpful to see the trainers demonstrate the techniques. Additionally, many of the Andrea Arden trainers have also rescued dogs, so they have a good understanding of the different training issues rescued dogs face. Two paws up!
We just got our new Goldendoodle and had a great trainer from Andrea Arden help us with house training and jumping. We were at our wits end with the nipping and chewing too. The trainer calmed us down and let us know that all this behavior is normal and showed us so many great ways to get control of the situation. She was really understanding and patient. Additionally, she went out of her way to assist our family beyond just the lesson. I was so pleased to find out that she purchased toys and treats to bring the next time she came. The entire experience with Lisa and the other staff was a great one. Bernie and my whole family give the entire crew a thumb and paw up!
I am a first time dog owner and needed to control my new little fury friend. The staff here is second to none, the facilities are fantastic, and my little pup loves it! He’s obedient, calm, and receptive to the training. Andrea and Jo Anne really care about the dogs and take a lot of time to make sure the little fellas are on track. Highly recommended!
I’ve taken several classes with Andrea Arden Dog Training. The instructors are very informed, patient, and experienced. It takes the frustration out of dog training, and with patience, positive reinforcement and fun, the relationship between dog and owner grows. They make it easy. In fact, I doubt I would have a second dog if it wasn’t for Andrea Arden Dog Training. We began in the winter of 2007 and are still going back for more, including the small dog socialization groups. Can’t say enough~ except thank you!
WOW! Say it with me: Cesar who? Andrea Arden’s Katrina Krings is the true Dog Whisperer! I called her to work with my 4 month old Maltese who I was hopeless at training. After only a few sessions she literally transformed my dog, and then worked with me to make sure I could keep the training up on my own! Kartrina, I cannot thank you enough!!!!!!! Suki is happy and I was told by my vet that she is the most well behaved dog they have ever worked with. (To be clear, they called me at home to mention this because they were so impressed by her calm demeanor and pure obedience) Great job!!!!!!!!!!
