Andrea Arden Dog Trainer

Andrea is a pet expert for The Today Show, Live with Kelly & Mark, and Animal Planet’s Dogs101, Cats101, Pets101, America’s Cutest Dog, America’s Cutest Cat, and Underdog to Wonderdog. Andrea was the trainer for FX’s Emmy Award winning show, The Pet Department and is a go to source for countless media outlets.

Andrea is the author of Barron’s Dog Training BibleDog Friendly Dog TrainingTrain Your Dog the Lazy Way, and The Little Book of Dog Tricks. She has been the behavior columnist for Dog Fancy, as well as a contributing writer for numerous publications including the AKC Gazette and Modern Dog Magazine.

Andrea was a charter member and served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and was part of the team that created the trainer certification program for the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers (CPDT).

Andrea served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of The Animal Legal Defense Fund, and serves on the Board of Directors for Pets for Patriots. Andrea also served on the board of Animal Haven Shelter in New York City.

Andrea Arden Dog Training was founded in 1994, and was the originator of puppy training classes and play groups in NYC. Andrea also offered the city’s first small dog and breed specific play groups as a way of encouraging ongoing socialization and creating a sense of community amongst pet parents.and has been named the best dog trainer in New York by New York, W, Time Out, Quest, and  Daily News.

Andrea is an AKC CGC Evaluator, and may administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program, CGC, AKC Community Canine (the advanced level of CGC), Urban CGC, Video Home Manners and Trick Dog tests.
