Details

This course is by invitation only from one of our agility instructors. The course meets for one hour per class for four consecutive weeks (unless otherwise noted on the schedule) and is $365 for the course. Two people may attend class with each canine student.

The class fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and there are no make-up classes for your course. We limit the number of students in a class, so drop-in make up students would mean the class would be over the maximum.

Proof of Vaccine Requirements: For dogs 16 weeks and older a record of their rabies vaccination must be signed by your veterinarian and vaccine for bordetella, distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus are also required. If your veterinarian chooses not to give your pup one or more of these vaccines at the time of class, we must have a signed letter from them stating that it is contraindicated. These stated proof of vaccine requirements are set by the Health Department. Entry to classes and play groups is not permitted without Health Department required proof of vaccinations which must be emailed to us prior to the first class.

We do our best to keep things safe and positive, but please remember that participation in classes and play groups is at your own risk and we can’t assume responsibility for accidents or injuries.

Methodology

What are your training methods based on?

Our training techniques are grounded in motivation and positive interactions with both dogs and their owners. We use playful strategies and positive reinforcement to make training enjoyable and effective. Our aim is to cultivate a desire in your dog to engage in training, ensuring success in socialization and behavior.

Classes

What vaccinations does my dog need before joining the agility classes?

Dogs must have vaccinations that are up to date for their age. Since early socialization is vital, we recommend not delaying joining puppy classes while waiting for a complete vaccination schedule. Consult your veterinarian and consider expert advice like that from Dr. R.K. Anderson’s letter on early socialization and vaccination.

Can multiple family members come to the training session?

Absolutely, two family members can accompany each dog to class. Young children are welcome but must be supervised and kept calm to avoid disturbing the dogs or the session.
